In 1948 Harry Handlery purchased the Handlery Union Square Hotel, then known as the Hotel Stewart, adding it to his growing collection of California Hotels which began in 1928. This became his jewel in the center of all the magic that is San Francisco. Now, 80 years after his first hotel purchase, he would be happy to know that a fourth generation Handlery is working full time, carrying on the tradition of warm personal service and attention to detail.
